73” x 93”

The idea for Rally the Troops came from an orphan block that was purchased at a farm auction several years ago.  The original block was constructed of a shirting and indigo blue prints.  My color choices represent the colors of uniforms worn in the Civil War by the Union and Confederate troops.  I have also included a fun little bonus pattern for miniature lovers!

If you want to use up scraps, no matter how small – this is the pattern for you!  The idea for Size Does Matter! came from an antique quilt that I fell in love with at a quilt show several years ago. For a couple of years after that, each time I made a new quilt, I cut some 1” strips to make nine patches. All of a sudden, it seemed that they had multiplied, and tiny nine patch blocks were everywhere!  And that is how the finished size was established (very technical!) – however many blocks were finished is how big the quilt was going to be!

I made my very first quilt in 1999.  It was a log cabin, set in the barn-raising layout - and it was king size (what in the world was I thinking?)!  That is still one of my favorite patterns and layouts.  Another favorite of mine are basket blocks - it doesn't really matter what type of baskets - I love them all.  Well then, what could be better than a quilt with baskets AND log cabins?  How about a basket/log cabin quilt made out of red, black and tan fabrics?  Yep...it doesn't get much better than that!  What is your favorite quilt block?

Ozzie is our 18 pound, orange tabby cat.  He loves to sleep the day away in a basket in the closet of my sewing room - he won't be allowed to make a bed out of this little quilt, but I'm naming it with him in mind!

I have always loved basket blocks, so when I saw a unique, antique basket quilt at Market, I knew it was time for me to design another quilt.  This is my rendition of that quilt.  Pink and brown fabrics just say "vintage" to me, but this would be a fun little quilt to make in any color.  Red, white and blue? Red and black? Scrappy is always good!  Whatever colors you choose, this will be a fun, quick little quilt.

These are fun paper piecing patterns that you can whip up in no time at all.  The only difficult part is poking pins in this cute pumpkin face!

Dottie's Dashes was made using deep, warm colors - red, green black, cheddar and brown, along with numerous tan background fabrics.  But with this design you have lots of options.  If you like your quilts to be less scrappy, how about making a 2 or 3 colored quilt?  whatever you decide - enjoy the proecess!

A few years ago, a friend and I took a road trip from Iowa to Wisconsin.  We made our own shop hop along the way - just took our time and did whatever we felt like doing.  It was amazing!  We made our way to Menasha, WI and stayed at The Gathering retreat house.  Lisa Bongean was so kind and generous and sent me home with lots of scraps from some of her fabric lines.  Those are the fabrics that I used to make this quilt.  To me, Gathering Scraps will always be a reminder of a great time spent with great friends!

I have lots of "favorite" fabrics that I don't want to use up, because wouldn't we hate to run out of fabric?  (In all honesty, that will not happen to me in this lifetime!)  So for this quilt, I forced myself to gather up many of my all-time favorite fabrics, and cut a little bit off of them.  Do you hoard your fabrics?  I am challenging you to use them!  Grab your favorites and give this quilt a try!

Our black lab, Boomer, loves to wander around out in the woods on our property.  While I was making these pin cushions, I looked out the window and saw him coming through the trees, just wagging his tail - such a happy do.  I thought it was only right to name this pattern after him.

I've made thousands of pineapple blocks, but they usually finish at a tiny 1 1/2" and are made into quilt jewelry.  I thought it would be fun to make them bigger and turn them into a small quilt.  This pattern is so simple to make larger (or smaller) - wouldn't it be awesome on a king sized bed?

Nine patches seem to be my go-to block lately, and when I decided to make a few small quilts, that's the first block that came to mind.  This is a quick little pattern and will look great hanging on the wall, or on a table.
